Homework Policy:
Homework is given on a nightly basis. Students are expected to complete each assignment to the best of his/her ability. Math Studylinks & practice sheets will be extra practice for what we have completed in class. The "Try This" problems may be more difficult to complete; however, students should show that they attempted each problem.
Late homework is ALWAYS accepted. I understand that schedules are busy or homework gets forgotten at home. As long as students hand in homework by Friday of the week it was assigned, they will get credit. Homework that is NOT handed in will receive a 0.
To be fair, students who complete homework the day it is due will receive a roll in Homeworkopoly on Friday. Late homework {while receiving credit} will NOT earn a student a roll in Homeworkopoly.
Homeworkopoly:
Students who complete all homework assignments on the day they are due will receive a roll in Homeworkopoly. Each Friday, our class will meet to play.
Chance Cards: Students will choose a card with different incentives and consequences. This might include a treat from our treasure box or moving forward or backward on our game board.
Spelling Spaces: Answer spelling trivia question
Math Spaces: Answer math trivia question
Reading:Students are expected to read for at least 20 minutes each night.
Books from our classroom library are available for students to borrow. Classroom library books should be returned every Friday.
Spelling:
Every Monday, students will put their spelling words into sentences. Tuesday-Thursday, they will complete their spelling Tic-Tac-Toe, doing 3 spelling choices in a row. Tuesday-Thursday work is due
each Friday. Students will receive a spelling Tic-Tac-Toe sheet along with their spelling words. You can see the spelling Tic-Tac-Toe here.
Math Facts:
Our math program will get more difficult as the year progresses. It is so important that each student has a good starting foundation. Because of this, it is a necessity that your student knows all addition & subtraction facts
